I love that our home is within walking distance to the nearest masjid. We are not sunni or salafi but it is sometimes nice to attend Al Juuma services and Ramadan gatherings at the masjid from time to time. It is nice in the mornings before/after fajr depending on the time to take my morning walk and walk past the masjid. I must admit that it saddens me that Quran Alone is not the normal protocol for all muslims but the reminder of Allah that I get when I pass by the masjid is a sense of peace and security.
